iPhoneBrick
Was running firmware 1.0.2 with Installer.app hack for external apps, but no sim card app hack. I was under the impression that the simcard hack was the one with the potential to brick; perhaps I am proved wrong by the following events.
Suddenly a few days ago, got syncing errors with iTunes ("Error iTunes cannot sync with iPhone(0xE8000004)"). After googling this hexhell, a few bites, but no dice for a clean solution.
Today, wanting badly to sync some new German CDs I have, I decided to bite the bullet and restore update the firmware. Normally this is done via iTunes, but with this hex error business, iTunes would not talk to the phone. Did some more Googling. Decided to put phone in DFU mode in the hopes this would get iTunes to recognize, and in turn let me restore. Entering DFU mode involves powering off, the holding down the power and the home button, and quickly releasing the power button. Then a caution signal appears. I connected to iTunes, it recognized the phone, and said it would gleefully restore.
After a few minutes downloading the restoration there's an error. "Unknown error (19), cannot restore". I notice the phone has magically gone out of DFU mode, so I place it back in DFU mode and reconnect after a few tries. This time, the process goes further, having me agree to update the firmware. After a few minutes "Unknown error" again. Now I can't seem to reproduce what took the phone out of DFU mode.
Now my phone is stuck in DFU mode. iPhoneBrick.
I have several other things I have in mind to try; but I'm done with this for now.
UPDATE: Yay! Happiness was achieved with DFU mode + different version of iTunes. iPhone was restored, synced, and back to normal. Although now, with new firmware, is decidedly unhacked.

Install for Collision 12 went great and the opening was well attended throughout the evening. One of my favorite pieces was one which amplified/modified the sound gleaned from scraping different textures.
